Using this Site
The topics below show how to use some of the main areas of this site.
Please note that you must register before you can apply for a job.Registering
To register on the site click the register link on the login page. Fill in all the details on the form and click submit. Some of the fields are required fields. The system will not let you progress with the registration until these fields have been properly filled in.
The registration page has an in-built help system. Beside each of the fields you will see a grey circle with a question mark in it (circled in blue on the image to the right). Hover or click on these buttons to view help and information about what should be entered in each part of the form.

Logging In
Once you have registered your details with the site you will be sent a welcome email. In that email you will receive a password for your account. To log into your account click the 'login' tab and enter your email address and the password that you were sent in the boxes provided (circled in blue). Once logged in you should then be able to access your account details where you can change your password to one you prefer.

My Account
When you have successfully logged in the 'login' tab will change to 'my account'. Click this to access your personal information. In this section you can edit your details, change your password, upload and view your CV and enter details about your job experience and your education history. Please note that you must enter this detail before you submit a job application. The idea behind this section is that you will be able to store and update your details so that you can apply for multiple SPAR jobs without having to continually re-enter your details.
Please note that inactive accounts will be deleted after a period of 6 months of inactivity.

Searching for a Job
Serching for a SPAR job is easy. Click the tab that says 'job search' and then simply fill in as many search fields as you like (shown in the blue circle) before clicking submit. Your search results will then be shown. You do not have to fill in all the search fields but please note that entering as much information in the search fields as possible, often helps to narrow down the number of returned jobs (cutting out the display of irrelevant jobs to you).
You do not have to be registered with sparjobs.co.uk to search for jobs but you do have to be registered in order to apply for a job.

Applying for a Job
To apply for a job you must be a registered user and you must be logged in! You should also make sure that the detail stored about you in 'my account' is up to date and correct. If you are satisfied that the information is up to date and correct then you can apply for the job you want. When you have searched and located that job, click the apply button located on the right of the information box (click the Job Title for full details of the job). At this stage you will be presented with a summary of the information about you that is stored in your 'my account' section. If you notice that something is not correct at this stage then you can jump into 'my account' and correct your details. Lastly there is a 'Covering Letter' notes box that should be used to put a little extra information that will go at the front of your application. An example of this is shown below. When you are ready to apply for the job click the 'apply' button. You will receive email notification that your application was received and the application will now be shown in the 'view applications' area of your 'my account' area. When the job closes you will receive email confirmation of whether your application has been successful or not.
Cover Letter Example
Dear Sir/Madam, I am interested in the ....... position advertised on the sparjobs.co.uk website. I am a highly motivated individual with a skill set that covers the following areas....... I look forward to hearing from you.
